Queen’s Plain made a stunning debut at Scottsville yesterday, winning first up from what at first looked to be a hopless position. Keagan had her well back in the early part of the race but she was always travelling well. Going down the inside of the field it looked as if traffic would be her downfall but once the gap opened Queen’s Plain quickened smartly to win impressively. Duncan was always confident that she was a smart filly but felt that the 1400m may be have been a tad on the sharp side for the daughter of Dynasty whose full sister won at the weekend over 2000m for Dennis Drier. She was just a tiny little thing when I bought her, said Cathy. I just hoped she would grow. I also thought this would be too short for her.
Good luck to Dave MacLean who is a staunch supporter of the yard.
