It was a day of ups and downs for the stable on Saturday with July hope Fiorella finishing a game seventh. However, Duncan says she returned with an over-reach injury which will have affected her chances and she could well have finished closer.
On the whole, Duncan was happy with the days work.
Accidental Tourist finished a good second in the first race while Sorceress was running on nicely for fourth. Neptunes Rain is likely to revert to sprints as she didnt appear to stay the mile of the Garden Province. Legend was also a little unlucky as he got squeezed out at the start and was running on strongly from last in the straight.
Procal Harum, fitted with blinkers for the first time, was the star of the evening and got the stable on the board with a smart win in the Nin-Black Type eThekwini Sprint beating some useful opposition. Good luck to Dave MacLean.
Duncan and Dennis Bosch were the only two KZN-based trainers to have a winner on the day.
