Poly specialist Accidental Tourist turned in a sparkling display in the final race at Hollywoodbets Greyville yesterday. Turning for home last in the 11-horse field and some 10 lengths off the pace, Accidental Tourist motored home up the outside rail under apprentice Thabiso Gumede to run down long-time leader Dive Captain and win going away. The instruction from Duncan to Gumede were to head for the outside fence turning for home and the young apprentice carried them out to perfection, not letting anything get in his way. It was the third bite of the cherry for Gumede who had been a little unlucky in his two previous rides on the filly. But Duncans loyalty paid off and young Gumede delivered.
Good luck to staunch owner Jimmy Sarkis and Werner Kuhn of Red Jack Trading.
