Duncan edged two ahead of Dennis Drier in the race for the KZN Trainer’s Championship when Miziara ran out a fluent winner of the fourth race at Scottsville yesterday. As the tally stands currently, Duncan is on 63 winners with Dennis on 61 with three weeks of the current season still to run. The Championship is decided by the number of winners in KZN.
Miziara, a smartly bred daughter of Kahal, enjoyed the step up in trip and won with authority. Stable rider Keagan de Melo always had her in the box seat and had plenty of horse under him all the way up the straight. She is a filly that should relish even more ground but will now be put away for a rest.
Good luck to Brad McHardy, Miziara was bred at the McHardy’s Rathmore Stud, Pierrick Maujean and Gold Circle Director Babu Nunan.
