The switch to the Greyville poly for yesterday’s meeting had Duncan in two minds wether to run High Voltage who, on ratings, should have been hard to beat. “My head told me run, my gut feeling was that I should scratch,” Duncan said today.
“I thought we could get away with a five (furlong) on the grass but when they switched to the poly I was not so sure.”
“But we were rated to win so the head took over.”
In the end it was a tight call as Anton Marcus had to pull out all the stops to get High Voltage home ahead of the game filly Captain Of Colour.
“He’s a horse that is looking for further so it was a good win, even thought it was heart-stopping stuff.”
Good luck to Gary Tooch, Greg Blank, Larry Nestadt, Gary Piha, Jimmy Sarkis and Darrel Yutar.
