The stable has been going through a little bit of a quite patch of late but the wheel has turned with a winner last Wednesday and a double at Greyville last night. Starlight has her limitations but is always game and her win was not before time. What she lacks in ability she makes up for in courage, says Duncan.
It was touch-and-go for a few strides as Mark Khan waited for a gap, but once through, Starlight responded gamely to get up close home.
Good luck to Naven Naidoo.
Duncan has always held Beat It in high regard but she has had her niggles. However, she seems to have found the right surface and turned in a cracking performance in the fifth. She was always travelling under Mark Khan but was some way back turning for home. Given a clear run at the line she quickened past her field to catch the speedy Yaas. After her good barrier trial on the poly, I knew she would have a good chance here, said Duncan.
It was Duncans second winner for Dave MacLean this week.
