Avison and Mary Carlisle have been with Duncan from the day he took out his trainers brief and are staunch and loyal supporters of the yard with their home breds from Kinmount Stud. The Carlisles understand the sport and take the ups and downs in their stride. They let Duncan do his job without interference and although not on course to lead in their home-bred Crystal Ball at Greyville on Friday night they will have been watching.

The filly was well handled by apprentice Luke Ferraris who was quickly over from his outside draw and sat in the box seat throughout. He got a clear run up the inside and Crystal Ball moved through fluently to win as she liked.
They seldom miss a meeting at Scottsville and Avison is Chairman of the Board of the SA Jockey Academy. The deserve all the plaudits that come their way.
