Danish Cross has had her ups and downs but it all came together at Greyville yesterday as she led all the way to shed her maiden. An odds-on favourite two runs back, she was scratched at the start after being kicked by a horse playing up in the next stall.
Duncan then took a chance and raced her on the poly track and it all went wrong. After missing the break, Keagan de Melo was at her the whole way around and she did not find in the finish.
Yesterday, Keagan took her to the front and she never looked like losing. The opposition started to close on her 400m out but Danish Cross found another gear and won going away. She has had her problems but Duncan has got on top of them and she looks capable of going on from here.
