The race for the title of KZN Champion Trainer looked to go down to the wire with a month to go, but in the end Duncan ran out a comfortable winner over reigning champion Dennis Drier in spite of a few tense meetings.
But, like a top jockey, Duncan timed his run to perfection and run out a comfortable six-length victory, 75 to 69.
Magnanimous in winning his second KZN Championship, Duncan paid tribute to Dennis as a top trainer and a hard man to beat.
Fittingly, stalwart owner Dave MacLean provided the stables final win of the season as Brighteyedbushytail got home narrowly on Champions Cup day at Greyville on Saturday.
It was a job well done by Duncan, Cathy, James, Kospendule, Keagan, Divan, Bosmas, Phillip and the team who all worked hard towards the championship.
