We have come to the end of the 2016/17 racing season. It has been a roller-coaster ride for the stable. We always set high goals for ourselves and this season we have managed to have better results, month-on-month, culminating in winning the KZN Trainers Championship for the second time.
Any racing stable cannot do without its loyal owner-base and all accolades must go to our clients, without whom we are nothing. We thank you all.
The core of our success is the ability of Cathy Rymill to pick value-for-money yearlings who go on to win at the highest level. Picking young horses that have potential is talent that very few, even some of the high-profile bloodstock agents in the word, lack. Its not always about the price tag.
James Rich (Assistant Trainer) manages the yard to a high standard and is responsible, along with Nkosiphendula Nziphazi, Phil Bhengu, and Tebo Cosemace, for horse management and staff responsibilities.
Stable jockey Keagan de Melo has handled race-riding like a true professional and is a huge asset to the stable. So too is Divan Neethling who, although not given much race-riding exposure, is a natural horseman and always keen to learn.
Finally, as Captain of the Ship, a big thank you to all involved in the stable. To all our patrons, your commitment and loyalty make me very proud to be associated with you. The same goes for all my stable staff who work exceptionally hard to make us what we are.
Heres to a bigger and better season.
Many thanks
Duncan
