Duncan has always had a high opinion of Brighteyebushytail and the son of Dynasty didn’t let him down in the Sugar Hills Stables Handicap at Scottsville yesterday. The giant Haddington dictated the pace and kept rolling in the straight. But Keagan de Melo always had his rival in his sights. Over the last 50 m he asked Brighteyebushtail for maximum and his quickened up in an instant to put the race to bed.
It was a terrific performance by Dave MacLeans colt.
Brighteyebushytail will be put away for the next few months and if Keagans assessment that he is still a big baby is correct, and Duncan believing that he will easily go 2000m, then we can look forward to the rest of the season all things going well.
