The stable rounded off 2017 in fine fashion with a double at Greyville yesterday. The North Face finally got his act together after adding a few grey hairs to Duncans red ones. As Duncan confirmed, he is not an easy horse, a tricky customer. I put the blinkers on to try and get him to travel and he did exactly the opposite and wouldnt go. He did the same with the cheek pieces.
Although the field was not the strongest he won a good race and can go on from here.
Good luck to owners Suven Govender, Duncan Coetzee, Keegan Govender and KN Naidoo
Byline looked to be the best bet on the card after finding a mountain of trouble in her previous start. This time around Anton Marcus had her up with the pace and she quickened up smartly in the straight to win going away. She looks to be a filly with a future. She is owned and was bred by Graham Elliot, one of the doyens of South African racing.
Byline was also the second winner on the day for the stallion Byword.
